Of Scones and School starting..

Yesterday, we took all of our children to school for the first time, many of you have been here since I started Mywhiteporchshoppe on Instagram back in 2017, and in 2019 our youngest daughter was born. When she was just a baby I went to an estate sale with all four children in tow, and when we walked in, the Man running the sale greeted us with wide eyes and I promptly assured him my Children are great shoppers and not savages. I found a lot of wonderful pieces at that sale, but more importantly? I met and started a wonderful friendship, we have spent much time with him since, both frequenting his sales and having him drop by and spend time with us. Today his wise words came to me, “When all your children are in school, you may take a little nap.” It is refreshing to be given gentle ideas like that instead of being asked “what are you going to DO now that all your children are in school??”

There is much to be done, my children need me more than ever in this season of life, and you can find me here at home most days, doing all the things, like whipping up our favorite scones for a after school treat!. (Recipe below) (you can add any fruit/etc blend you want)
